Eisenbarth described the “pat on the backside” as a birthday tradition. He celebrated each child’s birthday with an announcement on the school intercom, followed by an invitation to the principal’s office.
Eisenbarth gave students pencils and calculators, sang “Happy Birthday” and spanked them once for each year of their lives, the letter said.
It sounds a pretty weird sort of tradition to me, and a pretty weird sort of guy doing it. I’m not surprised that parents or children were not amused. Not the right sort of person to continue being Principal of a school in my view.
There is a world of difference between kids having their own birthday traditions between themselves and adults trying to impose them.

Birthday spankings like these are imprudent but obviously not considered police blotter material in some schools and communities for they wouldn’t be left up on youtube. One of the young ladies looks like a young Paula with one of her paddles. I feel for the 11 year old boy who submits non-consensually to the embarrassment of a birthday spanking. They did avoid touching the boy on his bathing suit.
The first video should have led to at least an unpaid suspension. The girls may feel sexually exploited for they know what part of their bodies attract boys and he should not be acting like one. I’m not sure he would have done it with as much enjoyment it were two boys.
The second warrants a good chewing out by the principal. She could have been one of them.
What starts as childish birthday spanking often becomes an occasion of boys enjoying touching girls in a areas they wouldn’t not be able to touch for a lack of consent on the girl’s part in the latter teen years. By the time they reach the age of consent it becomes a staple of beer drinking birthday parties.
There are even restaurants where a patron (not surprisingly usually a guy) are chosen to spank the birthday girl while out with their girlfriends.
USA is not the only country that has birthday spankings. We have ours every year while Poland has a very painful one for girls as they turn 18 with a belt. There is always the theme of one to grow on until the end of the nubile years. Here is a birthday spanking at the older end and so most painfully. Not all 23 are shown but you get the idea by how difficult it is for her to stay and position. Modestly.

Hi Bob T,
Simple answer : terminate him . A grossly unacceptable practice introduced why? Why didn’t he discuss it first with the school board, his management team or superintendent?
Well you figure it out .

In light of your statement under the gender agenda italicized from Gender Agenda should this man be terminated and would you fell the same if it were a woman teacher. Also, would you terminate the three presumably teachers, that occurs with the fifth grade boy.
On a lighter note, I was out recently on a Friday night with my son dining with his favorite (English style fish & chips) and a young lady received 21 whacks from her girlfriends but it was a ploy to be served underneath the minimum age. I believe the age should be 18 (right of passage in Poland) and applied that as my house rules as long as we were in the house and had the car keys. As a freshman in college the administration celebrated a significant anniversary with Sly & the Family Stone (WE ARE FAMILY) by having a keg party just before the age became 21 because of the intervention of National Highway Safety Council that would refuse highway funds to each one of the 50 states that refused.
They did the same about lowering the speed limit only to be overturned from lowering it to 55 and then returning it to 65. This is a reason why TWP are on the same page about the federal government usurping the power of the state. It comes down to my belief in the principal of subsidiarity. Constitutionally, I make an exception to that when it comes to the judiciary who have all the right as in integration. The deep south got a black eye on that account and some carry that over into the corporal punishment sphere and perhaps more so if those states become the last to permit.
The disparate issues I have just written about have little to do specifically with this thread, and admittedly this posting is all over the place but for my convenience it is better than taking the time that it would take from posting under different threads that I need to express myself.
Fish and subsidiarity are revelatory of what? You only get partial credit if you say I’m crazy.

I would certainly formally discipline them . I can’t say definitively, if I would dismiss but , if one of them was the Principal , and it was a no spanking state .yes .She at least would probably have to go .
Why? The issue isn’t if they hurt the kids concerned , they probably didn’t . However, to flagrantly defy a clear prohibition regarding the required relationship of student and teacher in that state. Firstly , you shouldn’t draw parallels between ‘punishment’ and fun. Embarrassing kids for no good reason also should be out . In the first case the gross issue was he INTRODUCED the policy without discussion , and clearly he upset some of the kids and parents. He was a total Jerk. As I said we can only surmise his reasons.
As to the Ladies shown , actually I thought the third one was far less jovial than the other two. Three ‘play spankings’ one after the other both crazy and self indulgent, and raised other uncomfortable issues to me, redolent of those unanswered about the sisters of no mercy over the years !!!! The whole classroom scene showed pitiful judgement on behalf of three grown women , as did the stupidity with the fraternity paddle. Frankly the whole thing is somewhere between sick and creepy!
What happens in families and between friends is one thing : what happens in the name of the state in public education, funded by public money completely another. Where’s the accountability ?

Thanks prof n The question would be what would birthday spanks have to do with punishment in the kids eyes in a school setting if corporal punishment hadn’t been used in decades by many schools and perhaps this one. There may be a less draconian sanction than terminating if the principal was one of the three for it didn’t raise the ire of the parents and within the standards of behavior permissible among the parents. The principal has a higher authority within a school system that parents could turn to if they had.
OTOH the man with the two girls was not a secret when it’s on the world wide web where people may be enjoying it for all the wrong reasons as opposed to just having a laugh. They are minors and perhaps not fully aware of some proclivities. The man deserved a severer sanction because he applied corporal punishment in a dangerous manner that could have damaged the tailbone or pelvis. Had he paddled those girls in a disciplinary context he made a mockery of it as a sanction.

Hi American Way,
See perhaps my view on this is a bit straight laced. I see two scenarios.
One where there is no cp. We know it is abolished in school but some, especially younger kids may get it at home. Their ability to discriminate MOTIVE from ACTION is a tough one at that age unlike older kids and adults .
Whilst the school might not use ‘spanking’ , it may have a connotation with/of punishment to some kids. Furthermore, most abolitionist states/school districts, have a very clear idea that abolition may indeed mean no touching /no contact between staff and students. It may be PC but it can be the way. And then there is the Bathing suit area question ……..
On the other hand , where the paddle is used it is completely confusing for an action to be used in one context as punishment and in another as play. Where do you draw the line so youngsters understand…….if kids spank each other is that fighting/bullying, or just following teacher? Much more difficult if you don’t restrict the action to have one unambiguous meaning. Not all violence, or involuntary touching of rear ends is wrong ( thats difficult enough in the case of cp in general, let alone the nuances in this context). Confusion or ambiguity doesn’t aid discipline or accountability. And what if you use the same paddle for fun and punishment ?
I agree on the use of the frat paddle that was just stupid. Again one has to question the motivation of the teacher concerned.
It isn’t good enough just for motives to be unimpeachable , in a public school situation it has to be demonstrated. That’s where drawing a clear line is important , not being a spoilsport.

prof n The idea of a paddle is to keep the hands off the erogenous zones. The juvenile position of over the knee was not used nor was the child’s buttocks struck. Spankings are not the norm, albeit not specifically ruled out in every district, so there would be little connection with the punitive. I suspect that classroom festivity elicited a “ho-hum” by the parents who probably thought the classroom was just an extended family gathering of friends.
Birthday spankings are best to celebrate at parties with rites of passages as with Michelle reaching her legal age.
There is something disturbing about teachers being so chummy with their students. This should not be happening until after they graduate where they are free to spend money on their own and not the taxpayers as college students.

RE: Video. 2026 views: Added Feb 27, 2008 at 6:14 PM. Why wasn’t it taken down even if it only elicited a reprimand. The attire is typical of the growing trend where dress codes are often hard to enforce with uniforms that abound in inner city schools. Perhaps there are many blacks in that school. Is it safe to assume that he is a principal and not a teacher or a coach teaching math. It sounds like when he is frustrated by their lack of compliance that he says GET THAT BIRD (what does it sound like ). Did the paddle have a handle? It’s a strange looking instrument of correction. Let’s hope that it is a historical artifact. By the accents it does seem to come from the southern region but it is not necessarily a public school. If it’s like Memphis or New Orleans they may be less opposition. I cannot make out the logo on the man’s shirt.

Hi American Way,
Ive looked at this on the big screen TV , but unfortunately the resolution breaks down before you can see the emblem in legible form. Surround sound gives you ‘The’re both turnin’ around hit that bird ,hit that bird ‘
My guess ? Inner city academy?LA?AL?MS? I’m pretty sure not TX GA, ( take your point on dress and accent) Coach doubling as a teacher/VP. Some sort of maths science classroom , but an old , not well maintained building. Classroom looks tired and shabby. The class participants are clearly a mixed racial group.
The object looks like a board , (it’s NOT a frat paddle : I was totally off beam there) . There is no handle, it could almost be the seat board from an old fashioned desk, or some sort of largish demonstration board. The black girl is quite ok it seems with the ‘joke’ the white girl seems much less comfortable veering between laughter and concern . The expressions on a 50″ TV screen tell a lot .
I dont ‘get’ the demeanour of the coach at all : that’s not surprising , I didn’t always read their ‘alternative’ humour very well for real. If this were white middle class suburbia I guess the video would have been down now.
It reminds me there is a very fine line in teaching .when the PE staff and games coaches used to slipper some poor miscreant for failing,to perform the rest of us little wretches used to laugh . Why? Was it fun at his discomfort or relief that it wasn’t us. But we wouldn’t have dared not laugh, because if we had doubtless we would have been given a dose for not participating in the Roman circus.
Now this isn’t that level of abuse, but its ‘uncomfortable’ it seems for the participants, and certainly for me as a spectator

I saw in a news reports that the principal concerend has resigned and is now on state pension and benifits to $3000.00 a month.
He made the mistake of private spankings in his office, which was not a wise thing to do, giving a birthday spanking at a party in school where all can see whats going on is one thing, but in a office behind closed doors does lead to questions being asked!
I was birthday spanked as school from 1st to 5th grade, but the teacher did it in front of the class, mostly if the class had a birthday party. My last birthday spanking was at 5th grade age 11 and I was firmly spanked and it did hurt a bit as well, much to the enjoyment of the class
My own son now in 4th grade has been birthday spanked by me from the first grade age 6 at his class birthday party, which the parents pay for a outside firm to come in with the food etc, I last spanked him, must to the glee of the class on his 9th birthday, he got 9 light spanks and one stinger spank to grow with

Nothing surprising about a note from a girlfriend asking for a birthday spanking. But in 1922. Not so sure? I wonder if birthday spankings were common in school. But then again California is always ahead of the curve.
If your not adventuresome no need to scroll down for I have shared the text below.
http://newspaperarchive.com/oakland-tri … 11/page-9/
Note to Phone Girl Breaks Up Home SAN FRANCISCO May 5 1922.
The idea of her husband spanking a pretty telephone operator didn’t appeal to Mrs Ruth M Kirkwood. So her reconciliation with A. P. Kirkwood was called off today.
The two had separated and then become reconciled according to statements in court and then Mrs Kirkwood alleged, she found a note alleged to have been written by her husband to “My Darling Sweet Girl,” which said among other things:
“Have you had your birthday spanking yet? Well If you fail to get it just let me know.” According to allegations the “darling sweet girl” was a San Francisco telephone operator.

I do no have a problem with teachers or principal giving out birthday spankings as long the the child is not forced into it and no physical harm is done. In this goof balls case I remember reading that some students did not want it and they got anyways. To me that is irresponsible and he should lose his job over such a stupid thing.
I got a few birthday spanking in elementary school in front of the entire class and it was all in good fun. Heck until I was 13 would do the spanking tunnels at my birthday parties.

I don’t know if any age is appropriate but an 8-year-old is getting a little too old for this sort of thing. If all nine were of the same intensity as the one at 50 seconds. The video will be much more embarrassing in years to come.

Over 100,000 people have viewed this and I wonder how they as professional educators feel about an instrument of correction entrusted to them to be used in this manner. Does the school know how they are looked upon by school authorities?
Although I posted the video awhile back it is worth mentioning that this is a paddling not all that different in intensity from a typical school paddling. Were the two women there before or did they just enter the room in time to spare him the last of the usual 3 swats? If these were girls being paddled it would have gone viral and the teachers would be out of a job or at least I would hope.
Birthday spankings appropriate for schools?

This Principal apparently gives a swat he calls “whammies” with a hockey stick . He also hands out pencils and calculators at the same time. I guess it’s supposed to be all good fun, but some kids (and parents) don’t like it.
What do our contributing contributers think? Should he carry on as before? Should he be reprimanded? Terminated (sacked, not killed)? Prosecuted? SCP is illegal in Iowa.

Surely, the species you allude to have gone the way of the dinosaurs? Of course, it might depend on what you mean by “think”, “unduly” and “entertainment”. Are feelings of rage, despair or acute boredom undue?

<div style=”width:100%;background-image:url(/realm/A_L_123/A_L_trg.gif);”>Hi Mommabear2,
I am intrigued that someone so vehemently opposed to school corporal punishment can be a supporter and indeed apparently an enthusiastic advocate of birthday spankings.
I wonder if this is because birthday spankings are traditional (in your culture) and (usually) consensual?
What then of the situation that seems to have existed (and for aught I know may still exist) in some US schools where an authority figure says to a student:
You have breached the disciplinary code, you have to be punished, you can have a choice of Saturday detention (or suspension or other non-CP measure) or swats.</li>
And the student says:
OK, I’ll take the swats.</li>
Now there we also have tradition, since punishment for wrongdoing at school is about as traditional as you can get! And the punishment is consensual. The breach of the school disciplinary code requires that a penalty be exacted. The authority figure offers alternatives for that penalty. The student selects one of them. They both consent to and agree the resulting punishment.
I presume that you would object to such a punishment. However it meets the same requirement of being traditional and consensual as a birthday spanking. Just as the birthday spanking is intended to impress on the recipient that they are now whatever age the birthday is celebrating, so the school swats are intended to impress on the recipient that they have misbehaved but are now discharging that misbehaviour. Both experiences are, in a sense, rites of passage. So why, in your terms, is one just fine whereas the other isn’t?</div>

Hi Another lurker,
Interesting point. I actually remember a spanking tunnel at a party for someone’s when I was about 7 , in birthday party right here in the UK. But to take up your point about the films and TV, it is , as I’ve said before, very odd that in the US , if you exclude the slightly saucy ‘adult ‘ spankings as shown by American Way in his cinema threads, there are very few examples of paddling on commercial TV or film. Whilst i could understand it today , when only a minority of states retain the paddle, in the 50’s and 60’s it was a ubiquitous feature of school life , public or private throughout nearly the whole of the US. Films like ‘Walkout’ do show it , but many more, even ‘pseudo historical’ stories about say busing in Northern cities, never make reference let alone SEE a paddle in action.
‘
OK ‘Dead Poets’ is an exception…………but thats supposedly an ‘elite’ school. I can’t even think of having seen the portrayal of a military college with cp, only some cases in Catholic School ….nothing much ‘mainstream’ As I’ve said before even ‘dazed and confused’ uses it in hazing but not teaching and ditto ‘family guy’, and , in the episode where you would have found it (deep Louisiana) in ‘To live and die in Dixie’ not a mention!
Is this something the US doesn’t want to export? Again if you look at the supposed ‘dates’ for the setting of films like ‘Carrie’ and (the original) ‘Buffy’ feature film, let alone ‘Back to the Future’. No paddles. and ‘Fast times at Ridgemont High’ (California)made in 1982 when CP definitely was in use, not a squeak!
Compare that with the UK , films such as IF…., KES, Leaving, you could go on for hours. We don’t seem to be ashamed of our history : seems the US film industry wants to rewrite much more than how the ‘enigma’ code was cracked !!!!!!!!!Kids today don’t even know there was just as much protest in the Bronx about integrated schooling as there was in Mississippi, maybe not the KKK versus the Deacons but a mass parent and student movement in the white community, yet I only can think of one film dealing with this ……….quite a relevant issue given yesterdays date

<div style=”width:100%;background-image:url(/realm/A_L_123/A_L_trg.gif);”>Hi Prof.n,
A very interesting response, thank you, and I would commend to anyone who may have missed it your recent contribution in another thread with rather more detail on what does and doesn’t get depicted in US films with regard to corporal punishment.
You said above:
Ah, but was it a ‘birthday spanking’ per se, or was it just a spanking, for instance as a penalty or forfeit associated with some game? I can certainly recall spankings in the latter context at birthday parties, and indeed, as you recall, spanking tunnels.
I was an avowed party avoider as a child. I hated them! Even at a very young age I preferred to pick my companions and my activities and not have them imposed on me. Other children were upset when they weren’t invited to birthday parties, but I was upset when I was, because my Mother might insist that I went despite my protests! So I didn’t go to many birthday parties, and if I can recall spankings they may not have been all that uncommon, as I recall, as a forfeit or similar.
But in the context of birthday spankings we are surely talking about a spanking imposed specifically on the person celebrating the birthday for the purpose of marking that birthday. A spanking often involving one spank for each year of the new age attained. I don’t remember anything like that. But as I say I didn’t go to many birthday parties, and I’m open to evidence to the contrary. Not from recent years of course. As noted the habit will almost certainly become established here, and the volume of stuff on YouTube may already be having an effect!</div>

Another_Lurker is correct, I do belong to that segment of the British population which is over the age of 40. I suspect he is also correct that it may well be yet another thing we end up importing.
I think the concept of “consensual” is not as clear cut as it might seem. If someone is forcibly held down and hit hard with the intention of causing real pain that is clearly non-consensual, if the whole thing is very light hearted and the recipient sees it as enjoyable then it is consensual. What concerns me is in between. For example peer pressure, is it consensual if the recipient feels under pressure to accept a painful spanking for fear of being regarded as a wimp, ostracised or even bullied?
I submit to dentistry because of the consequences of not doing so, not because I’m happy about it and certainly not because I enjoy it

Yes, I know where you got it from, but it’s a complete load of rubbish! Scots giving away pounds! No way! The photograph was taken at the then Zodiac Club (now the O2 Academy) in Oxford (nowhere near Scotland) on 25 March 2007. by James Grey-King. There are other pictures in his portfolio clearly taken at the same location. In the photograph in question the young lady is almost certainly not receiving bumps, but is practising the strange ritual of audience diving, hurling herself into the waiting arms of the audience, a dangerous habit much favoured over here by the young at one time.
Your first two links above may have a problem. I can’t connect to either of them. The problem seems to be that Getty Images won’t allow me to go direct to the pictures. Instead I need to first view them in-situ on the relevant pages here and here. I can then use your direct to image links, though of course it isn’t necessary as the pictures are full size on the already viewed pages. </div>

Hello Another_Lurker
The point you made is very valid and does have some merit to it. I just want to point out one major flaw in your line of reasoning. Their is a huge differences between a birthday spanking and school corporal punishment. Birthday spanking are supposed to make the birthday boy/girls the center of attention, supposed to be fun event for all, and most importantly it is not supposed to cause pain. SCP is pretty much the complete opposites of a birthday spanking
Don’t really know why I am a huge fan of the birthday spanking, guess the simple answer is it was one of the things that made me feel special.

Birthday spankings are presumably pre-emptive – a warning as to what is in store for the child if they misbehave during the coming year. Hardly fair or kind. But why, when and where did this strange custom begin? (I know that in some communities in earlier times it was the custom to frighten children into submission with threats of eternal damnation if they failed to eat their greens, mind their parents, etc.)
“Spanking” is a modern word. I have therefore included in my search terms such as “whipping”, “licks” and “swats”. I have found little before about 1900.

“Good morning, little girl.” said auntie and Cousin Reta; while Willie cried, boy-like: “Halloa, Kit! Come here. One – two – three – four – five – six – seven – eight – nine – and one for interest. There, that will do for a birthday whipping. Mother shall I whip her for you?”
“No; I guess not.”
“Well, then, let me kiss you?” and in spite of Kittie’s struggles, she received a hearty kiss for each year of her life.

I, until reading this thread had never heard of birthday spankings. Certainly heard, seen and been given birthday bumps by fellow classmates but never heard of spanks being given on a birthday by either classmate or teacher.
So it is something the children consent to, enjoy and just a bit of fun. I expect it is for most of them but I do wonder about the consent part. As already mentioned on this thread giving consent is not that straight forward. Just because a person gives consent does not mean that person is happy to do so.
At my secondary school we had a somewhat bizarre little ritual after swimming lesson. The last girl out the pool and back into the changing room was required to bend over and take two light taps with a plimsoll. Now this was all done in a lighthearted manner, all just a bit of fun and just a joke, the plimsoll was only lightly tapped across the behind not meant to hurt. Most of the girls were fine with it, took it as a joke and cheerfully took their `punishment.` Some girls however were less than keen, and showed reluctance to present their backside to be whacked however lightly. Pressure was put on these girls to play along with the game, so in the end they did consent they put a forced smile on their face and pretended it was all jolly good fun because that was what was expected of them.
I never had the `pleasure` of taking a fun whacking, I made sure I was never last out that pool even if I had to near damn well drown someone! Quite why they thought it was a good idea to encourage kids to scramble out of a pool to a changing room I will never know, highly dangerous one would have thought! Anyway the reason why I made certain I was never last was because I would have found it anything but fun to have to bend over in front of my class mates, but should fate decide I was last out then I would have had to go along it with so yes I would have given my consent and pretended it was all `such fun` because that was what would be expected of me and who was I to let every one down!
OK so this is not the same as birthday spanking which obviously is a ritual that children grow up with and probably most do enjoy being centre of attention but I do wonder about where the lines of consent are drawn. Is it always free will and happy to do so or sometimes just for a few of these children are they doing what is expected of them so not to spoil everyone`s fun.

Could a gentle birthday spanking be invading a child personal space? I would say yes it can but just want to make a one important point. I think any type of touching whether it be hugging, kissing, holding hands, or tickling can invade a child private space. To me the trick has always been to tell my kids if you are uncomfortable with something please let me know and I will respect your wishes unless medical emergency.
Also you see a lot of gentle butt slapping going on all the time. Just look at sports athletes or almost anybody who is in a loving relationship.

What do our contributing contributers think? Should he carry on as before? Should he be reprimanded? Terminated (sacked, not killed)? Prosecuted? SCP is illegal in Iowa.

I cannot imagine this happening here for it is as politically incorrect as you can get. On the other hand some of our customs seem even stranger.

A_L By “some” imagination was meant as something out of the ordinary as the time allotted to the belting.
The line of questions found in the paragraph below are meant to be illustrative of trends I find abhorrent. Can’t anything be considered innocent anymore? Can’t anything be on the level or must a dance be considered a vertical expression of a horizontal desire. The Easter Monday traditions and the Pasowomie have gone on for years. Such innocent activities will be deemed as incorrect. Soon there will be a tax for every sin under the sun. The “passerby” Pasowomie seemed like innocent fun but may not seen to others.
Miss Congeniality at school perhaps was interested in more than just activities needed to propagate the human race? Why else would she be shamelessly accentuating her bottom that could be a lure for young boys just trying to get an education? Was she seeking pleasures best left unmentioned in a such a family friendly forum? Should I assume the opposite that she was unwittingly partaking in a traditional custom that provided venereal pleasure to an odd boy or two? The wildcards in all of this is the girl whose lap she is draped across and the photographer who she may or may not have been in collusion?

<div style=”width:100%;background-image:url(/realm/A_L_123/A_L_trg.gif);”>Hello Bob,
You asked above:
Until I Googled it you had me there, but apparently it is Spanish slang for a slap, though usually across the face.
You and I have both been here long enough to know that the actions of larry1951 should be questioned only with considerable circumspection and great respect, and you will have doubtless noted that it is just such an action today at 06:52 in your foundation post which has brought about the new title.
You have I am sure seen this thread and as your original title for the thread contained one of the terms, albeit as part of a longer word, we must possibly now assume that any reactivated threads whose titles breach the guidelines will be retitled.
I think that this will be a great pity, but I do not have the responsibility of managing this estimable Forum, and past events lead me to be prepared to place my trust in those who do. You will note that representatives of The Management Team have given me an explanation of why the need for their edict arises. I do not understand how the readers concerned can have such difficulties with regard to the titles of current threads, but I am not au fait with the censorship practices of foreign ISPs. I am though fairly confident that if the readers concerned could undertake them, my suggestions would alleviate their problems. but presumably they cannot do so.
A cursory inspection shows that a great many threads will presumably need to be retitled if they attain one the top spots and there are at least 8 such threads currently on the first index page. Though not currently near the front, my much cherished (and sadly not very active ) Rodney School thread will presumably meet this fate if anyone posts in it. In that event may I please humbly beg The Management Team that CP be substituted for each of the instances of the offending word – at least, I assume that it will be offending, in view of today’s change.</div>

Hi <strong>Bob T</strong>, you asked above “<em>Torta? What is a torta</em>?”
When I first saw this title, I misread it as “Torte” (defined on Wikipedia as…) “<em>a rich, usually multilayered, cake that is filled with whipped cream, buttercreams, mousses, jams, or fruits.Ordinarily, the cooled torte is glazed and garnished. A torte may be made with little to no flour, but instead with ground nuts or breadcrumbs, as well as sugar, eggs, and flavorings</em>.”
I innocently assumed it was a birthday cake from your principal! (anyone of German background would know what it is) Now <em><strong>that</strong></em> would have been very nice.

As one of my pastimes is an an amateur cook, it just so happens I made a participially nice torte for a dinner party tonight including two chocolate mousses ( white and dark)a chocolate ganache , and some morrello cherries soaked in kirsch , served with liqueur flavoured cream.Yes its a modern take on the old black forest gateau, but I wouldn’t have minded that from my primary school headmistress , far nicer than her equally brown and shiny John Dick H weight ………..

Hi HH,
So perhaps I should refrain from giving you the recipe for a Texas leg lamb roasted slowly with olive oil , honey , and mixed herbs……..the secret is to roast it on a bed of the herbs (include loads of rosemary and mint, along with bay leaf , parsley and thyme ), and stuff the boned leg (you get down and dirty with it , but any Texan worth the name can bone a joint of meat ) with apricot and apple stuffing .I got this from Jackie….but I bet you didn’t know that the South west of Texas is renowned for lamb production (Texas Dorpers) nor that it has the second highest production of virgin grade olive oil for culinary purposes of any state in the US ( No 1 is California ).When you stuffed, rolled and tied the leg take a culinary syringe and inject the meat with a mixture of olive oil, lavender syrup 10% and honey 10% Cook it slowly with a little water in the roasting pan to stop the marinade burning
http://texasoliveranch.com/
http://www.lavenderridgefarms.com/
and don’t forget if the aircon fails the rosemary and mint repel bugs as well which is why they were used for range cooking years ago in Texas!

Hi <strong>prof.n</strong>,
thanks for sharing your secrets behind the Texas lamb leg! As with many other emotive subjects, this once again proves there is more art than science involved! You say, “<em>bet you didn’t know that the South west of Texas is renowned for lamb production (Texas Dorpers) nor that it has the second highest production of virgin grade olive oil for culinary purposes of any state in the US</em>”
You are correct that in fact I did not know. Lamb? I may have guessed that, but olive oil? No, you would have got me on that one. Our steroetypical view (from a Canadian perspective) is that Texas is mostly lots of cattle ranching and oil, and when “the men” are not engaged in these two activities, why then they must be wearing “big hats” and carrying six-shooters while playing poker in saloons! I think that TV series called “Dallas” that ran decades ago may have had something to do with this. But so as not to look completely ignorant of American regional commerce, I <em>was </em>aware that a large quantity of the US garlic production comes from a small town called Gilroy, in California!
It’s only a few hours away for you now (if you are repsently in the UK that is…), so Happy New Year!!!

I traced this down from the prescription on the bottle to the state of Tennessee where about 15,000 students or 1.5% of its student population were paddled in 2006. TN is in sixth place just above TX in the percentage of students paddled in the 19 states that still allow it.

Wholesome fun and in no way “humiliating” – if it is the custom and is accepted with the proper decorum. I would gladly accept the same if I could be 18 again, provided only I could keep my present wisdom and knowledge.

You can accept the same now despite not being 18, you would probably have to pay for the privilege though!
Not my idea of fun by any means, but then this not a custom I was brought up with.

What do our contributing contributers think? Should he carry on as before? Should he be reprimanded? Terminated (sacked, not killed)? Prosecuted? SCP is illegal in Iowa.

Could this be a young male teacher applying the school paddle on a high school girl? This picture is from the 1971 Northland High School Yearbook underneath registration form..

Would a young male teacher paddle a girl outside a disciplinary context? Granted a rather unorthodox tradition but a tradition is a tradition.
How did the paddle, not the kind of instrument of correction that you carry to school, get into a student’s hand? Why did she bend over so willingly?

I have emphatic information from a usually unreliable source that the girls are all being paddled for dress code violations. Their dresses are too short – they fail the 6 inch rule. Rather than requiring the girls to remove the offending garments they were paddled by their teacher, a kindly young man who takes a brotherly interest in his pupils.
(Dress-lengths are prescribed as the maximum permitted ground clearance when kneeling.)

During the partitions the laws of the governing country held sway on “Polish” territory, and all three were proponents of corporal punishment both scholastically and judicially. On reformation of the country in 1914 a whole new set of laws were set up – they did not suddenly resurrect 18th century principles.
I know an elderly Polish gentleman and he once mentioned being caned in school in the 1930s, in what had been the Russian controlled area, and is now Ukraine.

The yearbook 1973 there is an adult paddler probably administering corporal punishment with the same posture they would get in real life.
Maybe someone can pick out the backhand student paddler from the senior class from the 1971 yearbook.
The mock paddler doesn’t look like an 18-year-old student but more like the age of the young man in the link above.
Find the supposed student among all those small pictures. You’re on.
If the principal gave the paddle to a student for use as a birthday spanking it would involve the consent of the principal and he or she would be more likely to give it an adult than a student while a photographer was nearby.

Polish birthday spankings are sometimes such that I’m sure some are grateful that they only happen at 18 and unlike the states are not an annual ritual or as their birthday song says live to 100 years. When only in the presence of peers and with alcohol they seem not as tame and more brutal when belting.

It doesn’t seem to come as a surprise that a male would paddle a female student in this school. I meant to put this as the fourth link in the “youtube” thread. Isn’t it peculiar that which they use as a last resort (supposedly from handbooks) can be brought out just for the fun of it?

Could a gentle birthday spanking be invading a child personal space? I would say yes it can but just want to make a one important point. I think any type of touching whether it be hugging, kissing, holding hands, or tickling can invade a child private space. To me the trick has always been to tell my kids if you are uncomfortable with something please let me know and I will respect your wishes unless medical emergency.

What’s more is that my elementary school had opt in corporal punishment. So if your parents signed you could be disciplined by being spanked with a paddle. My mom opted out of corporal punishment (she said only she could beat me) and yet I still got birthday spankings with the birthday paddle. I guess it was exempt?

Birthday spankings in the classroom like corporal punishment in general elicit a range of opinions that reflect regional mores. This story attracted some interests before it faded from the radar screen. If it were a male teacher giving a girl student a birthday spanking that probably would not be the case.

Birthday spankings are best left up to their peers and their folks. They don’t belong in the classrooms. They become more embarrassing than painful the more birthdays they have.

In light of this mock seven year old paddling above, I’m posting this 8-year-old paddling of a girl named Bailey. It gives you a sense of proportion.
From January 2017.
A comment from a paddled 8-year-old-girl named Bailey.
According to the child’s story told to her mother, the principal paddled the child twice. The girl then put her arm out and stated “it hurt” at which time the Vice Principal allegedly grabbed the girl’s arm and held it while she was struck on the backside again.
“I believe there’s some people who don’t know how to do it right and they shouldn’t do it at all if they can’t do it right, they should not do it at all,” said Christy.
“I think they should paddle students but that they shouldn’t do it out of anger. My mom says when you go into a room and you’re going to spank a child that you need to take five deep breath’s before you go in there and it just calms you down,” said Bailey.
Caveat Bailey’s allegedly bruised buttocks.

This was a comment made under a video from a similar genre. IMHO LIGHTEN UP!
This is yet another appalling video which showcases birthday spanking of very young children so prevalent in many of the socially backward and culturally deficit areas of the US, usually in the Southern States.
I assume from the setting it was filmed in a pre-school centre with the Teacher doing the spanking and the videoing/uplifting done by her “proud” parents.
The fact that the spanking was “pretend” is irrelevant. The visual message given to ALL those young impressionable minds is that spanking or hitting others is both fun, acceptable and normal.
It’s sad to think that the little boys parents probably considered this as a “training session” for the future beatings with paddles/ straps that they (and no doubt the teacher’s ill-informed School) will inflict on him in the immanent future in the mistaken belief that this will aid his development into a responsible and caring member of Society.
Expressions such as, “there are none so blind as those that cannot see”, or “monkey see, monkey do”, come to mind in an attempt to understand the reasoning behind why this little boys parents thought it acceptable to upload this video.
As for the Teacher, who clearly is a willing driver in this situation, she is totally oblivious to the real lesson she is providing to the children (albeit in fun) that an adult hitting a child is normal, acceptable and worse still is going to be fun.
Such is the retarded social attitudes of those who live in Redneckville USA, where the local societies measure of being a man is his ability to resolve all domestic issues by the use of force, usually by beating his wife or children.

What impresses me about these Polish 18th birthday parties is however rich or poor you can afford to celebrate. I say this because some are held in church basements with crucifix and others in fancy restaurants. Some with recorded music and others with bands. Some professionally videography and others not. 18 is a rite of passage for both genders. Compare the amount of money typically spent on sweet sixteen or quinceanera (Latino fifteen) expenses pale in comparison.
It’s hard to understand customs as this blog clearly indicates. We certainly shouldn’t judge another culture by our own.
CLICK
They certainly know how to bring a family together to celebrate a happy occasion. The respect for their elders it certainly evident by bother attire and their behavior. They didn’t go overboard spanking her. Along with KK I am impressed with how they really know how to enjoy themselves in such a wholesome manner.

Why birthday spankings of toddlers in school in the states? To a certain extent it makes sense. Not all parents let their youngsters go to other people’s homes at that age. Some may unintentionally hurt a classmate’s feeling when they talk about a party they’re not invited or are invited but not permitted to come.
Making a classroom feel like a family at that age is something that the putative Renee, et. al., disapproved. IMHO it’s not unprofessional. There is a time for study and a time for play. These kids are just learning to read the class rules posted. They certainly don’t need to be spanked with a paddle.
This girl isn’t going to go through therapy because of PTSD for what happened to her as a toddler. But then again, if there is a dollar to be made!

You don’t have to have a lot of money to have a good time. Given how Catholic they are you often see crucifixes (above the baby). It would be interesting whether their religiosity faltered since the death of their beloved Pontiff in 2005.
Not much money needed for this celebration!

Here is another school that approves corporal punishment applying a token birthday spanks to a second grader. That paddle would seem sufficient in heft to get a point across to a seven year old. It would seem that her father teaches in a Georgia middle school.

A better than not likelihood that LL (prior posted below) was receiving a mock paddling from an elementary school teacher in a county (Lanier) that practices a fair amount of paddling right through their middle and high school years. The number of paddlings actually increased as assessed by the last paddling statistic report posting.
The interesting thing about the picture, is not just the size of the paddle, but the question of whether it was it a paddle for every teacher as in swat team of teachers, or a single one on loan from the principal’s office.

Four of the thirty or so children in that classroom would have been paddled. Three the in middle and high school. So dust is not gathering on that paddle.

18stka Update. I am heartened that unlike many birthday parties here the young people are much better behaved. There doesn’t seem to be the raucous behavior that generates ill will between generations. Here are some images that caught my attention.

These two girls have the assistance of the cultural anesthetic to help them get through their birthday spanking. It’s a good think they reach the age of consent before they are expected to go through this ordeal. Often time the girls hit harder than the boys.
The girl shown with the flowers is next in line for the belt. This makes one wonder whether the belt is the instrument of correction that is preferred when they are naughty at home.

Without a party and family these Polish 18th birthday spankings can get out of hand and quite frankly be borderline brutal. Maybe it will be a case of the proverbial revenge being a dish best served cold and she will get her chance to celebrate their birthdays. She doesn’t seem one bit flummoxed.

In the first video posted by American Way all of the spanking was done by girls – there are two blokes in the background who did not get involved. Hopefully the birthday girl’s skirt gave her back side a bit of protection – and I hope she gets the chance to get her own back on some of her girlfriends.

I agree with HH.
18stka parties remind me of my own days when generations came together for social events. It wasn’t their generation and our generation but a true family celebration. There seems to be little or no raucous behavior unless it’s only the youngsters and more so when fueled with drinks.
Unlike birthday parties here that are usually expensive their affairs seem less lavish.
It’s her last spanking unless she is a high school senior in the bible belt.

If in fact the paddle is used in a serious manner is it a good idea to use it in a jocular manner. Do you think that size paddle is appropriate for a 7-year-old.

After lunch, we went back to her classroom with her to give out cupcakes and sing Happy Birthday! LL also got her birthday spankings from Mrs, Cindy while we were there. She had an option of a hug or spankings and she chose spankings. đ I took a video (you can see it HERE), but it cut off at the beginning because I ran out of storage on my phone – boo! But the first part is still cute.

No more birthday spankings in Alvord, Texas.
That school was where one out of five boys and one out of twenty girls are paddled.
his girl didn’t have a happy memory.
https://activerain-store.s3.amazonaws.c … 555931.JPG
I was always the last for everything…even my birthday… My birthday was in the month of December, the last month of the year….When it was time to celebrate my birthday my Mom baked cupcakes for the entire class…In those days Momâs didnât seem to worry who liked what flavor, or who was allergic to anything…
When it was your birthday you felt pretty special on that day. That was until you remembered what was going to happen. There was the dreaded moment when Mrs. Wollen called you up to the front of the room to announce your birthday to the entire classroom. That part wasnât so bad. The part that was dreaded was when she gave you the âbirthday spanksâ over her lap for âgood luckâ. Who ever heard of a spanking being for good luck.
She called me up to the front of the room and I immediately started to worry. I had never been spanked before. I had witnessed other kids in the class getting their spanks for good luck and was horrified. I had a beautiful new dress on for my birthday and I was going to be spanked in front of the entire class. It was the worst experience in my life!!
I was spanked five times and then once more for good luck!! I was so choked up with fear and was never more ashamed in my life. I just couldnât understand the reason for being spanked. I thought getting spanked was when you were bad. I decided then and there I was never going to let anyone spank me again.
When I met my Mom outside of school that day I remember telling her how much it hurt to be spanked in front of the class. I told her it wasnât fun, the class laughed and my feelings felt very bad. I know my Mom knew I was sad that day and tried to cheer me up by hugging me and telling me I wasnât spanked for being bad but I didnât understand why my teacher spanked me.
I recall during all my school years never being scolded or spanked ever again. I guess my kindergarten teacher left more than an impression on my butt, she must have left an impression right down to my soul.

When did TWP ever mention an over the knee position outside of bedroom experimentation Given their size it does seem like a practical and safe manner of applying a paddle. Renee, et. al, believed the paddle should be a deterrent and not a toy.
In Lee County MS there is a possible candidate for the school where this birthday spanking occurred. It may very well be Mooreville Elementary school near Tupelo, MS.

Hello American Way,
As the self-appointed guardian of the memory of the sadly missed (at least by me ) ladies of ‘Teachers Who Paddle’ I fear I must correct your above contribution. You wrote:
When did TWP ever mention an over the knee position outside of bedroom experimentation
In the, ahem, ‘bedroom experimentation’ episode, described in the TWP Blog here, Renee specifically notes that when she wanted to know how a paddling felt she bent over the bed in her ‘rather thin’ silk pyjamas for 3 swats with her school paddle from her husband. Absolutely no mention of ‘over the knee’.
In general TWP deprecated the use of the ‘over the knee’ posture for administering the paddle, favouring bending over a chair or, ideally, the dreaded ‘brace position’, bent over leaning forward, weight on hands flat on the wall, back and outstretched arms parallel to the floor, feet apart, knees slightly bent and bottom perfectly presented for that 90o horizontal “tennis swing” of the paddle.
However the TWP ‘Implements & Techniques’ Blog entry here makes it clear that TWP did accept that with a very light paddle the ‘over the knee’ position might be appropriate for very young (pre-K to grade 2) children in some cases.

Judicial Connections?
Hello dane,
I am very sad to hear of the fate of the ladies of TWP. My alter ego Another_Lurker, whose account I am surreptitiously using in his absence, will be absolutely devastated. The poor deluded chap really believes that he was paddled by all the members of TWP at various times in the cyberspace conference room. I shall console him by telling him that they went down fighting swinging their paddles and took a few of the raving reverend’s men with them.
But how pray did you hear tell of the retired lady judge? Never, ever use ‘elder’ in such a context if the subject might be into the administration of CP! (Our self-nominated member of the judiciary said that she was, but only of females in real life.) Alas though the contributor in question was amongst those ‘outed’ as male in the notorious Women thread, and by a prominent member of the Forum’s Management Team no less.
My alter ego Another_Lurker was greatly upset by that announcement. His anguished post on the subject has now mercifully been largely rendered non-displayable in normal browsers by the excesses of the Tapatalk conversion process (Another_Lurker did so love his HTML/CSS, fine on Network54, unintelligible to Tapatalk). However so that recently joined readers may be aware of how fortunate they are to have arrived after the conversion process I have extracted the post in question from where it still lurks in the page source buried under extraneous HTML added by the conversion process. Here it is in blue, an appropriate colour for it!
I note in your recent contribution that Dot/Dorothy was male. Carl and Mats provided extracts from the writings of Dot/Dorothy here but did not mention dubious gender.
I am devastated at your news. I had so wished that I had discovered the fantasy school on MisterPoll where Dot/Dorothy presided as Headmistress while it was still extant. There were few ‘schoolboys’ enrolled there (or at least few using male names) but they were able to sample the delights of creasers, cross strokes, strokes on the thighs and being caned on the bare in front of the whole school, sometimes with an erring female classmate. And all from the security and safety of their keyboards! Had I but known that the headmistress was in fact male I would have been saved much anguish at a lost opportunity!
And then there was the appointment in the judiciary so often obliquely hinted at by Dot/Dorothy. After we clashed here over some advice I gave I gave her on computer security my travels around the country had a frisson of excitement and fear in case I inadvertently committed a motoring offence and found myself up before a bench presided over by Dot/Dorothy. I was sure that Dot/Dorothy would certainly have managed to institute JCP in the form of caning in her little fiefdom and the excitement was because my fate would make an excellent story for this estimable Forum, albeit a tad off-topic.
I was confident that, strapped down bent over the caning bench in the basement of Dot/Dorothy’s court with one of Dot/Dorothy’s warderesses wielding the cane and doubtless Dot/Dorothy herself supervising the proceedings, I’d be able to take my tariff of creasers, cross strokes and strokes to the thighs like a man. The fear though arose from what would precede the caning. In Dot/Dorothy’s own words from the extracts of her writings linked above the favoured method of exposing the target area would inevitably be to:
push your knickers into your bum crease so the cheeks were in effect bare.
Now with the ‘knickers’ I habitually wear that was going to make Miss B’s ‘clothing adjustment’ in my oft recounted leg smacking look like child’s play, and probably be mighty painful to boot! But I could have been spared all that agonising over whether I should circumvent the problem by adopting those ‘Gunga Din’ type knickers1 sometimes worn by bronzed young men with six-packs and excessive musculature. If I’d know that Dot/Dorothy was male I’d just have hired that chap who guarantees to get you off any motor offence and walked away without a stripe on my bottom!
Note 1: ‘Gunga Din knickers’ – from the lines in the eponymous 1892 poem by Rudyard Kipling about an Indian army water carrier:
The uniform ‘e wore
Was nothin’ much before,
An’ rather less than ‘arf o’ that be’ind,
For a piece o’ twisty rag
An’ a goatskin water-bag
Was all the field-equipment ‘e could find
Well I did warn you! Better dead than read, as the pundits say of much of Another_Lurker’s stuff.

A_L I was being facetious about the OTK not being OK in her kinkiest posting.
Someone said girls did in fact got hit but kept that fact among their own gender and in small circle at that. Whether those screams would have been heard over the public announcing system would be another matter. Maybe she would have hit a girl on her buttocks as she publicly did on their (horrors of horrors) their delicate palms.
I might learn more about that at my 50th class reunion. You’ll be the first to know what that teacher/principal empress penguin was capable of doing ???? That sin was never repeated so she never had to worry what card was in that deck of 52. It is a good thing that I let begonias be begonias.
BTW I am skeptical about TWP posting. As I mentioned before, she may have indeed been a teacher but I cannot believe that someone that was so unfamiliar with SCP she would be unaware of Corpun could then get up to speed on the topic unless she had more time on her hand than a married woman with or without progeny.
Without doubt she enjoyed posting here for a few years. You enjoyed her postings as many others from the UK and even elsewhere. Be comforted A_L an alternative reason for her not posting was not just her becoming tired of you (perish the thought). Please don’t dwell on that. She often started new threads when interest waned so maybe she just ran out steam.
Her bedroom posture was of course not OTK but it was my way of saying that might have been a position that she would more likely enjoy. She was not in that position during her scientific experiment when spanked as a guinea pig. If you had called her that she would need someone to the limit her to five and not ten as she had to remind one of her colleagues.
She most likely knew that would whet the appetite of more than her allegedly targeted readers. What people won’t do to promote their ratings!
I was painfully aware that second graders were seven-year olds and that she did approve of that procedure so A_L you shouldn’t have assumed that slipped my memory. I may be in cognitive decline but not to that extent.
If in fact the paddle is used in a serious manner is it a good idea to use it in a jocular manner. Do you think that size paddle is appropriate for a 7-year-old.

Pasawonie is a passage from childhood to adulthood. Birthday spankings are once in a lifetime so it involves a bigger party than one that comes every 365 days of the year and with a belt a much more painful ceremony than the open palm.
Latino fifteenth birthday (quinceanera) parties sometime begin in church with a dedication the Mary. They are even threaten not to have one if they feel their daughter has been overly friendly with a boyfriend or has likely lost her virginity.
Sweet sixteen parties are not religious and neither of them feature spanking per se.
Pasawonie, at time, as seen here youngsters are on the youthful innocent end.
Not so here but still with parental (they pay for it) consent.
21st birthday parties are often held in bars celebrating their first legal drink. Girls are more likely to be ceremoniously and more severely spanked as well as more often than not by the boyfriend privately, and possibly with clothing adjustment or less likely in public.
http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/2197 … 00/ask.jpg
When it is held in the school there can be peer pressure that may lessen consent as in the famous Kansas affair, with Terry Eisenbarth, that probably did more to end birthday spankings (whammies) here than one could imagine.
FYI from a somewhat naughty site that is historically well researched.

HorseLoverGirl has been bitten by the spanking bug and enjoyed sharing her story in the hip forum judging by her seventeen or so postings.
Two relate to school corporal punishment. Birthday spankings and an interesting narrative of a school paddling from the nineteen eighties when safeguards (3 swats) and witnesses became the norm after the national attention on North Carolina’s Shelley Gasparshon.
For Horse Lover Girl Birthday spankings are fun…………. I am not so sure if everyone would agree with her.
When I got to school the teachers would usually have the paddle out on the desk if it was someone’s birthday, then after roll call they called the birthday kid to the front of the classroom and told him or her that it was time for their birthday spanking. Then of course they were told to bend over and given the right number of swats with the paddle. My 2nd grade teacher would always let us choose between her hand or the paddle, even though it would be on the desk in the morning like usual. If we chose the paddle, which most of us did, she would say
Oooooooooookkkkkkkkkkkkkkaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy in this really drawn out voice that made it sound really scary. Then she would tell the birthday kid to bend over and spank.
https://www.hipforums.com/forum/threads … st-7755112
I would imagine many educators, such as the sweet Spanish teacher, were called upon as witnesses and would neither be chosen or have an inclination to take a swing at it.
Not too keen witness.
https://www.hipforums.com/forum/threads … st-7755102
I hear the VP tell me to stand up, and I did before rubbing my teary eyes. My teacher came over and gave me a hug, asking if I was ok. I sniffled and nodded and then rubbed my behind some more. My other 3 friends fared fairly well with the paddle, my best friend told me she cried and screamed while being spanked, while the other 2 in the group took the paddle like pros.
Later that day I had Spanish class, taught by my same sweet teacher who saw me get a spanking earlier. When I came into class she asked if I was ok, and I told her I was. She didn’t mention my spanking to anyone else though thank goodness.
Back to birthday spankings are occurring less but memories are slow to fade. They are overwhelmingly positive. Second graders received birthday spankings on their seventh birthday. Earlier ages are much more common now. The pictures in the family album are shared many years later when they look at it through a different lense.

People from other cultures will never understand birthday spankings in the USA. People in our nation don’t ask why they do something when it’s customary. I have done my share of research and have found birthday spankings did occur but rarely a century ago and never upon the fairer gender.
Understanding the birthday custom of 18 in Poland reminds me of times when a person has their first legal drink at 21 when one is more likely to be spanked than other years.

These spankings don’t always have to happen in rented halls. A night out with the boys or a night out with the girls can be an occasion when often they are fueled with cultural anesthetic that varies from country to country. This is Polish and not Russian but English is not foreign to all the girls. The birthday girl offers an ample target.

Birthday parties, especially for teenage girls happen in two ways in the USA. Among the Hispanics often their fifteenth birthday party begins with a Mass and a special blessing by the priests. Sometimes they are dressed and white and are assigned a boy to be her escort. They learn to do the slower dances. They are often held in American Legion and VFW Halls and are decked out in inexpensively as if it were a school dance with crepe paper and balloons.
Not so the sixteenth birthday Anglo celebration. They are very showy as well as expensive. They are held in fancy restaurant and at times the birthday girl is brought in a limousine.
Unlike the Polish birthday spankings, they are never given in a public setting. They would be highly inappropriate and would ruin a girls party. No girl would be put throughbh something as painful or as humiliating.
The poor and the rich celebrate their 18th whether in restaurants or church halls where the crucifix is prominently display. Boys and girls celebrate them and not surprisingly the boys are hit a lot harder. With or without alcohol they celebrate them. There is a great respect shown when the birthday girl serves a piece of the cake often to their grandparents.
They submit to it with various degrees of consent. The second girls is none too please with the custom.
Taylor in the bottom tweet takes her swats knowing that it comes with the territory even if she is 18.

Excellent find! Excellent videos!! I got some mileage out of them both, for sure. The first one I found very erotic. A couple of cracking spanks in there, and I loved the birthday bumps. The ol’ dress was flipping up there!!
Second one, when the girl ‘assumes the position, I chuckled at when she pulled that hem down.
Good work!

Prior posted without commentary. Some have felt that paddle without a book protecting their bottom.
Elementary school students are still paddled in Missouri in 2019.
The amazing scene about this photo is that is that a paddle that size would be used during the days when a witness would be required in an elementary school. This child is young enough to be spanked with palm over the knee. This would scare any child of that age. It happened to me in second grade with a stick a parent would never use.

Birthday spankings have been tradition that will not fade away completely. Nowadays the tradition is carried down by the older generation doing the spanking and that means they will be less painful. It’s ongoing popularity attests that however painful it is done in a playful spirit. The next time they will be on the giving end and it will be their turn to apply their belt on their younger friends or siblings. Revenge is a dish best served cold. ????

Under shocking school swats are found accounts of future students of Texas State. Perhaps some will go on to teach and keep a dying tradition alive for another generation.

This 18th Polish birthday party dispenses with the belt and there is enough of a bilingual presence you can hear Happy Birthday. This kind of polite behavior and wholesomeness is neigh near impossible to find in the USA. There is certainly a range between extremes in expenses. This one is on the high side.

This teenager dreaded her birthday spanking just before her school summer vacation. In 1905 the last spank was the one to remember as the one to be good on. I have never heard that one before. Today, they say one to grow on and a pinch to grow an inch.

Poland had birthday spankings well before 1905 of eighteen year olds. Her bending down and proffering her bottom for another may have meant she lost count or had more to come. I hope for her sake this was the last spank and will be her last spanking.

Clothing stretched tightly over her buttocks – she certainly felt that one!

Running gauntlets are called birthday machines. These public spankings are usually administered in gyms or outdoors where room is necessary.
They are not without their controversy as in anything they’re open to abuse.

Some bars offer free drinks to tables of woman volunteers as in this popular restaurant Tortilla Flats in the West Village of New York. She obviously is not in ideally garbed so she has to keep her legs crossed but she could have refused. Birthday spankings become more painful with the passing of years and even more onerous when given by an anonymous spanker. Not all the patrons seem interested.
A caption would be appreciated.

This a comical depiction from the 1960’s.

Who could forget the 1909 birthday spanking 26 year-old Howard Warren Benedict? A_L would prefer a gentler one. Look how they go out of the way of not mentioning his buttocks.

Would he be turning the other cheek or sitting from cheek to cheek if he taught in school to supplement his income? What would this comely parson possible be doing on Monday morning to this birthday girl in 2016?
What progress in the 21st century!
The first spanking on her birthday was a lesson unlearned for as a senior on October 24, 2016 she received another dosage. Was she spanked hard enough or was she given fewer swats than required to modify her behavior? Would it have made a difference had she been assigned a punishment she didn’t prefer?
The girls weren’t the only ones that searched for the date of his birthday. Other accounts occur in August but always after the middle of the month. This one used the adjective comely.

IMHO she is a tad too old for a birthday spanking or was it a punishment? Counting the number of swift spanks it was probably a birthday spanking. There was no girl in that classroom that would want to switch places with Nikki nor fill out their jeans more attractively.
She must have found it embarrassing or she would have not seen so reluctant to drape herself over the teacher’s knee. A more common scenario would be seeing her sitting gingerly after an office paddling and even more embarrassing.
You can’t help growing older but you can work harder at complying to the code of conduct even if the teacher seemingly doesn’t.

strangely enough i personally know one of the people on the mixed martial arts thread, matt gooden is originally from my neck of the woods. i mentioned this to a mutual friend who was also a professional mixed martial arts fighter and he said that running the gauntlet is a traditional part of belt ceremonies and is practiced on female members as well though generally with only token strikes. i also asked him about martial arts teachers who struck students as a part of training and he said it was uncommon but he did know of one trainer from his days in vegas who was an old school Brazilian style teacher who did, but he had never struck him and he was fairly sure the man would not strike a student a second time if they objected to this form of discipline in training.

An instrument of correction could have migrated from the home to the school. An over the knee spanking given by a Mom studying algebra could just as well be a teacher spanking a young scholars in a South Carolina classroom in 1868.

Of the 795 students in her elementary elementary school 146 of them could tell you how it felt when it wasn’t their birthday. Mooreville, MS elementary school children got their money out of that paddle.
Priorly posted.

There were twice as many spankings but that doesn’t mean that the most one student was paddled twice. One out of eight of girls and one out four of the boys were spanked. You can be paddled right up to the age of 18.

Getting paddled on her birthday didn’t go over well with this young lady.

On their 18th birthday they get their last spanking from their father. Chances are it wasn’t her first but none ever as much a part of a celebration. I don’t think she had any idea when the spanking would come to an end nor how much fun everyone would have at her expense. She will remember her birthday spanking for life and glad if happens only once. She won’t be sitting out many dances.

With all the restrictions placed on a public school you would never see this family style birthday spanking in the classroom. Not surprisingly, parents are often called in to apply or witness their sons or daughters when receiving corporal punishment. If their folks don’t sign a consent they’re shown the door.
Years down the road students do not look fondly upon the embarrassment. If the last one was given the same number of times she would have done something naughty. In my neck of the woods it was one for good luck. I think that was the whole idea originally for the custom. You’re not always going to grow but you will always need luck.
