Idle threats or were they?

when i was at school and home too did you ever  get threatened with a spanking i remember being first years of juniors around seven or eight at the time and we had a female teacher for a lesson and for some reason we where doing a dance exercise and we where not doing it too her satisfaction so her words where the next person i see not doing this correct is going over my knee and his shorts pulled down it had the desired effect as she never needed to carry out the threat

all the time at home…school the odd time, more when younger

• “buckle end of my belt”
• “within 2.54 mm of your life”
• “won’t be sitting down for a week”
• “eating your dinner off the mantlepiece”
• “smiling on the other side of your face”

at school …it was just the threat thrown at you that you will be sent to the office…depending on the age you knew the strap was there although it was more a fear factor then ever used, or least never talked about..going to the office or threat of it always was a scary thought that snapped you back to be on your best behavior. Office could mean detention, phone call to parents(thankfully there wasn’t answering machines or texting !! LOL), threat of being disallowed for any extra curriculum activities etc. or yes corporal punishment, young just a hand swat or two, ruler to hands usually as you got older or to the butt and at a older age strap which was hardly ever used to my knowledge, pre -1980.

Mum used to always threaten me with “Your going over your fathers knee when he comes home”,sometimes it was just a threat other times it was,nt and i would end up over dads knee having my backside roasted.Ouch!!!

sc545474 I think if a threat is made it  should be carried out otherwise it is a hollow threat did he hand spank you on the seat of your trousers then

   Sometimes on the seat of my trousers, sometimes trousers down depending on my crime. Dads trousers down spankings using his hand was agony, when he used the plimsoll it was unbearable and i howled the house down

I well remember bending over at home with my trousers down too!

   I had an elder sister,only a year between us dad never spanked her,mum slapped her legs on a few occasions,mostly all of the C.P in our house was Father/Son.She was a bit of a goody-goody,butter would,nt melt in my mouth sister and she got away with a lot unless mum found out then she,d get it

How it varied family to family. My wife and her sisters had the slipper at home, done the old fashioned way too! This was back in the 1960s of course.

This was also 1960,s over dads knee with hand or slipper applied hard and it hurt!

Quite a lot ,i was a bit of a mischievous boy thinking i could get away with anything and i did get away with bad behavior lots of times outnumbering the times i was caught,but when i was caught out dad dealt with me the old fashioned way with mums full backing
As for the privacy,dad tanned my bottom in the sitting room sat on the same chair,my mum who sometimes watched would  also walk through to the kitchen to start tea without even looking.My sister on the other hand would try to watch the whole show by standing in the doorway,until mum spotted her then she,d disappear fast

You’ll remember how it felt straight afterwards, easing your trousers up over your throbbing bottom. Then trying to get on with things as if nothing had happened. I remember waking up next morning and realising my bottom still a bit tender too. I never really remember being too embarrassed at getting it across my bare bottom. I knew that plenty of others had much the same from their parents back then.
