Four out of five lads charged at Aldershot yesterday with breaking into a Canteen Board warehouse and stealing chewing gum, sweets, and condensed milk were ordered to be birched, and the court resounded later to their cries for mercy. The fifth was discharged with a caution. The boys climbed up some spouting and scrambled along the guttering of a six-storey building, making an entrance through a window.
