Megan frowned. She wished it didn’t have to have come to this and she really didn’t want to get Ted involved, but it seemed like the only way. If she did nothing, it was as if Deanna owned her. Anytime there was an encounter (and, for all she knew, there could be many more), she would buckle. If she told the police, she would have to answer question after question. It would almost be like SHE was the one on trial. And yet revenge did not come easily to her. It was a cold and ugly notion, more the stuff of movie plotlines and Roman politics than her own comparatively humble existence. It was the only way, she told herself. The only way. She was thankful, at least, that Ron was being so supportive.
