“Fine then,” a serious-minded Ted intoned. “We’ll just have to go get the police. Now I know you have a record…”
Deanna took another step back, turned and ran. Her attempt to flee came as a surprise to no one. Having two soccer players in pursuit, she didn’t get very far. Ron began leading her towards Ted’s car, his hand firmly wrapped around a fistful of her short, dark hair.
“Get in,” Ted ordered, opening the door.
Deanna spit at him and Ron shoved her inside. She wound up sandwiched between Megan and Ron in the back with Ted driving and Anna up front. Megan didn’t particularly like her position, but she knew Anna would not be willing to trade. Again, Megan did not blame her.
