Anyway just after that she got a new belt and one day it was lying out on the desk again when we trooped into her class. I never got a chance to feel it because in less than 2 mins she had picked out 2 boys and gave them 2 each. She broke the first guys watch but the pain of the belt never showed (he was a big fella who worked on a farm). The belt must have been a cracker because the first stroke reduced the second guy to screaming mess. She waited a minute or two then gave him the second stroke…he was crying for half an hour!
The very next morning we had her first period. The belt was lying there but no teacher. I remember picking up the belt after a while. It was grey and very thick and stiff.
