She met Ray at the top of the stairs and they went down for breakfast, then settled down into a typical Sunday morning routine. Trinna curled up on the couch and read, while Ray organized some elaborate chases through the living room with his toy cars. When he had to, Ray made it to the bathroom without any difficulty, but he needed Trinna’s help getting his diaper back on afterwards.
For lunch, Trinna thought chicken soup would be a good idea given Ray’s troubles. Once they were finished, she went to work setting up the DVD player so they could watch the next disc of the Batman set, but was interrupted by a knock on the door.
Ray, who was already on the couch, looked towards the door. “Who’s that?”
Trinna shrugged. “I don’t know. I’m not expecting anyone.” She carefully went to peek out the window, and smiled as she opened the door. “Hi Dougie.”
