Its nearly 50 years back, but I can remember my first test at infants school. Only got 3 out of 7 right in Maths.

Teacher(Miss Dutton) announces, Now Stephen, thats less than half right, and that makes you a naughty boy.

Can you guess what happens to naughty boys?

Yes Miss

So, Stephen, if in the next test, and YOU can have another one tomorrow, you only get 3 right, how many smacks will you get from me?

4, Miss

And where will you get them?

In front of the class, Miss

And what sort of smacks will they be?

Hard, Miss.

Needless to say, I stopped messing about with tests that day & got 7 out of 7 the next day and thereon in!
