I’ve been criticized here for advocating the return of school cp, at least for, say, the under-15s. Yes, I’m well aware that it isn’t going to happen, but if it did after a year or two we certainly wouldn’t be calling the police into schools 40 times a day, nor would we have many youngsters leaving school unable to read or write properly (and thus unable to secure or hold down a job) because their education has been disrupted by classroom disorder and truancy!
We are told that CP promotes violence in the recipient yet, since abolition, violence in the young has increased dramatically everywhere. If CP did promote violence then our parents and grandparents should have been excessively violent people. Yet they were far from it. Indeed, I should be a veritable Attila the Hun…but I here I am, instead, a peaceable pillar of the community.
