Not necessarily. It depended on how hard you worked. Like most schools of that type, it had its ‘Remove’ stream, although it wasn’t called that, and some people left without much in the way of qualifications at all. Also, at the time I was there, there were Saturday morning classes which was a bind, and Thursday was a half day, so you had to go to school six days a week.

It was not so magnificent when you had to run around its perimeter several times, and when it was rugby pitches during the winter the wind-chill factor made it resemble the arctic!
