A fair assumption is probably 2:1 in ‘favour’ of the girls : and this is reinforced by anecdotal evidence from staff and the educational union. This would produce a massive explosion of female cases of trauma etc in later life, compared to England,and indeed in Scotland the factoral analysis shows greater trauma in the males than female population, and a tendency for Scottish men to suffer more depressive episodes than many comparable societies.
