Howard took a quick look around and saw that the playground was empty so he reluctantly agreed to cut through the playground against his better judgement. Howard was well aware that swinging on the playground swings was part of their tradition of picnicking, but the small size of his rejuvenated body embarrassed him. Nevertheless, he agreed to stand at Anita’s side while she rested herself on the heavy canvas, chain-suspended, swing seat. Anita led the way to the sand-filled swing area and sat down for a moment while she looked at the little boy her husband had become. Anita understood why he had refused to hold her hand while they walked. She could well imagine his trepidations about holding hands with her.
