I have read and laughed at some of the memories you lot have put here. Pete J., good call, mate! And the glass eye memory, brilliant. Mr Fahy, used to give us fags and we’d trundle off to the loos. Number 6, I think. Mrs Taylor who called all girls ‘girlie’, she was probably going senile and couldn’t remember our names, well she seemed ancient. Used to slap the backs of our legs with her bare hands!
Mr Thrower with ‘Blakeys’ on the bottom of his shoes and made a hell of a racket when he ‘marched’ into the hall for assembly. Smoking in the changing room toilet after the window had been boarded up and then denying it when caught with a smog so dense you could cut it with a knife. How stupid did I think the teachers were? Very, must be the answer. Marion W. causing a stir by telling a teacher to expletive off, it went round the school in five seconds and everyone was gobsmacked. Well it was 1973, probably wouldn’t raise an eyebrow now. Rumours about Mr Bunce and Miss Burnell. Did anyone get to the bottom of that? Oh Happy Days…
