I can find nothing wrong in Alison’s posting,girls were certainly punished in that way in the infants, junior school and the first 2 or 3 years of senior school.
In one of the junior schools i attended,a male teacher, in fact a rather nasty piece of work used to take great satisfaction from girlish tears as he whacked them on the back of the calves. You could be sure of a good line up if he was on break duty, although the women teachers would do exactly the same, if a little less enthusiastically, and there would frequently be the odd girl in amongst the boys. Down the line he would go,this was a fully public performance in front of his class, one meaty slap on each leg.
