So even if there is a divide in response it would be along self ascribed categories of gender , not biologically defined categories of sex. ( Of course Freud also opens our eyes to the fact that sex ( biological ascription or differentiation ) and sexuality are not oven in the same analytical category)!. Freudians/Lacanians accept this ; whereas many other reject it a priori as non positivist.
This thus leaves the s decision resting on moral and ethical categories………….do you prioritize the EDUCATIONAL or SCHOOLING priorities of the individual . It comes down to whether your subject and object are individuals or groups .
This is a dilemma I think we will find replicated in the debate and is one of great ‘divides’ a ‘Rubicon ‘ of educational practice which divides the professional and has for a century.
