After reading Rebecca’s account,I feel it has to an extent. I had often wondered whether girls who went to school at around the time I did were subject to the cane. I never experienced it myself and it wasn’t used a great deal at my high schools in New Zealand and Australia in the mid to late 80s. I find it interesting that CP was once a fabric of our culture and now it is almost taboo to talk about and yet at the same time the number of Dommes and BDSM practioners has clearly flourished in recent years. Another area which has long fascinated me, is that of female high school teachers caning male students, I believe this would have happened more often than, what Rebecca experienced at her school. An interesting point is also the emergence of Dommes and how I believe they are very often based on real people and behavihour which to a certain degree occurred when CP was the norm.
