Clearly they believe the girls are too stupid too work out how to do these things themselves. How demeaning! I don’t mind someone holding a door open for me, especially if I’m carrying something which would make it difficult to do so myself, but I don’t want anyone to do it just because of my sex. I’ll hold a door open for anyone, male or female, in similar circumstances. I don’t like another guest pulling a chair out at the table for me, I’ll accept a waiter doing it but only if it’s done for all diners – both male and female.
