I had a friend at school here in the uk in the 1970s, whose mother was summond to the school after the school had closed , and to bring her son along with her, a serious offence had happened and needed sorting out . he was about 11 years old and the punishment meant 6 of the best with the school slipper.he had to bend over a chair in the headmasters study to recieve this, and it meant his mother watching. i can only asume she had agreed to this punishment. i have wondered how any parent would feel watching their son or daughter having their bottom slippered, caned or paddled. i know it used to happen but i dont know how i would have felt had it been my son or daughters.
