Sue would have none of that. “Nonsense. Hand that stuff to me, I’ll take care of washing it. You two can go get yourself some breakfast.”
“But…”
“No buts, Erin.”
Erin reluctantly handed over her wet laundry, feeling guilty again for making someone else clean up what was, after all, her problem. The girls each got a bowl of cereal. Sue joined them a few minutes later.
Sue really wasn’t surprised at Erin’s bedwetting. After all, it wasn’t unheard of for a kid that age — even though Erin probably felt like she was alone with her condition — and even if Erin didn’t normally wet the bed, she’d certainly had a lot of stress in her life recently.
