My first caning in secondary school happened in the third term. In science we had a student teacher. Stephen and myself were fooling around. At the end of the lesson we were told to remain behind. Our regular teacher came to the class and he told us that our behaviour was dangerous and we were taking advantasge of this young teacher. He would speak to the head of lower school about us. We went to our next lesson English. Stephen who had been whacked before said it would be the cane. Sure enough during English a note arrived requiring our presence in his office. Off we went. We knocked, told to enter and in we went.
