No wonder that some males are not in favor of the caning of females as they mistakenly believe their status as superior being to females could be questioned. This is of course utter rubbish but nonetheless an extant belief. Not only are males not superior to females we are all equal but different.

That’s a very good point, one I hadn’t really considered in that way – probably because I see it from a woman’s perspective. I’ve commented on how exempting girls from the cane could be subtle a way of “keeping us in our place”. If girls are exempt from the cane, then their misbehavior is likely to go unchecked. As it gets worse, suspension or expulsion becomes more likely, potentially harming girls’ education and thereby reducing the competition for the top jobs. Your hypothesis is much more likely though.
