I remember that he slippered when angry, but there were no memorable incidents or untoward behavior. However, unlike some of his teacher colleagues, he was not the kind of person with whom I would choose to go to a sporting event or concert outside school.
His successor, a Canadian, was the complete opposite. He enabled those of us with fewer skills to enjoy exercise in ways that were better matched to our abilities.
