Amber paused to release a slow sigh, and looked back up at me.
“Even though the chances of that happening are VERY slim, yes, it might just end up being a part of them all the way through childhood, adolescence, and even adulthood.” She said slowly, carefully picking the right words.

After what Amber had just told me, I stood astonished at the chances that Lea may never grow up to be normal. I could see it in my head, ten years from now, still having to change my daughter’s diapers! How could this have happened?
I wished I could’ve understood it better. Before I could utter another thought, Amber spoke up once again.
