This occurred to a friend of mine I imagine aged 12 or 13, who inadvertently set fire to the science lab at his school for which he was sentenced to an unprecedented 12 of the best. He took his first six of the best and then (presumably the head was only allowed to administer six of the best maximum) told to wait outside for about 15 minutes before being summonsed for his second dose, just at the point when the bottom would be very tender, The result? He fainted midway through his second six.
This was in the early 1970s in a school in the West Country somewhere. I suspect had it come to light, the Headmaster might have found himself with some awkward explaining to do.
