I don’t like using the cane in general. I still didn’t like using it on those girls even if there was some sort of libidous reaction. Perhaps a male teacher who didn’t mind using the cane at all – perhaps for him, using it on a girl would be much more pleasant. For me, it wasn’t.

Nonetheless, I’m very glad that the vast majority of my career has been spent not feeling under any obligation to do such things.

And I wish I hadn’t felt under an obligation to do it on the occasions I did do it, and so could have avoided it.
