I suspect H Barker, if he’s still around, will be feeling pretty aggrieved with Mr Wood, as indeed may be some of the other people in the entries reproduced in the Mail.
John Henshaw, given a ‘six of the best’ spanking on his bottom on successive days in 1974, age 6 in Infant I class, for biting will only be around 44 (interesting that the Mail reporter can’t read, and refers to him as ‘these two six-year-olds’) and the others recorded will only be in their early forties.
All in all I wonder if it will transpire that Mr Wood has made a bit of a blunder.
