I was at school in the mid 1920,s. I ca tell you that in those days their was no such thing as a fun slippering. The slipper was not used but all teachers had a leather strap. Yiou were called to the front and told to undo your belt and drop yoiur trousers. iN those days most boys did not have pants and you bent over (this was all boys school, and even mixed schools with separate classes were rare) and your shirt lifted to expose your bottom. Any pants were pulled down. The whole class then saw you get the strap. No soft taps they really whacked it as hard as they could on your bottom. Tears were certain.
