Jess heaved a sigh. “Come here” Elizabeth said soothingly and Jess was inclined to obey. She found her way into her sister’s arms. She found her sister’s embrace to be much like her mother’s, soothing and protective. “You’re my big sister, Jess, and I love you.” Liz continued. “but you’ve got the whole maturity thing all wrong. You’re confusing maturity with blindness and strength with stupidity. Maturity is having the wisdom to recognize that you’re not quite ready for the real world out there and that part of you still longs for your mommy’s embrace.
