The exception was just before I turned 15 years old in 1958 when a good friend and I had a falling out over something pretty trivial and we told each other to “F” off. In those days the “F” word was a huge no no and unfortunately for us we were overheard by the teacher on playground duty. We were ordered to report to the staffroom at 1 pm. (It was during lunch break.) So at 1pm both of us were standing outside the staffroom door as all the teachers came out, glanced at us then went to their classes.
