Years later I looked up the school on Friends Reunited , and there were numerous comments about this teacher who did indeed take a full run up.
The school is Cardinal Vaughan in Acton , West London , and I won’t name the teacher , but he had an Italian name . I haven’t looked at Friends reunited for ages , so it is quite possible that these comments have been removed , as have all references to corporal punishment at one of the junior schools I attended.
Interesting new thread at my old favourite Digital Spy . Entitled something like ” Did the cane or slipper leave marks ? ” The OP seemed to think that canings were on the knuckles, but a few people put him right on that one. One or two references to slipperings , which most posters regarded as a bit of a breeze . Not for me the first time I got it !
