My body crashed on the bed in front of me as I contemplated on how the upcoming days would play out. I could see Lea’s smiling face so clearly, so happy that she was with me for that day in the amusement park. No one else was there, just us two enjoying all that it had to offer. At the end of our adventure together she would laugh as I gently tickled her in her car seat and called out to me in her little voice: “Daddy!” while still giggling wildly. I held her close and kissed her forehead, just before driving back home. Our home.
I slowly reopened my eyes, only to see the utter darkness surrounding me.
“Was that all a dream?” I thought to myself just before closing my eyes once again and landing back in a deep sleep.
