If you were not aware, Bacons School was the subject of a confidential inquiry regarding Mr Ing. This came because of a stand-off between the governors and the LEA, this being a church foundation school, and only partly funded by the LEA.
My husband was part of the enquiry team, which was headed by the Chief Inspector of Schools in his LEA. This authority had not formally abolished corporal punishment, so that was why they were accepted by Bacons. He still works in that authority, so I cannot reveal which it was.
