He mainly talked about a particular boy in my class who was a regular cane, but it is always difficult in these situations to ask for too much detail. He was not a slipperer, or caner, himself though he did produce the odd clip round the ear.
His best friend at school, also a French teacher, who helped out in PE, was most certainly a slipperer and he did slipper me twice during PE or games, once for misthrowing a discus and the other a mass slippering for not bringing the full PE kit to the lesson. He is also very much still with us, and it would be nice to bump into him again. He is also the teacher who put a 13-year-old boy across his knee and spanked him, something we all thought a bit odd at the time.
