Paddling and caning are certainly not the panacea that some may claim but few here do. We are a reasonable lot on the whole. There are alternative disciplinary sanctions such as Saturday detention that puts a burden on those with jobs or extracurricular activity and cost the school building and supervisory funds sorely needed especially of late. Hopefully not like the one from the Breakfast Club film starring Renee’s look-a-like Molly Ringwald.
