Question

I wonder if anyone can help with some advice, please?

I’m a size 12 skirt, but a size 16 top.

Normally I buy separate skirts and tops in the respective sizes and have no problems.

I find dresses difficult. a size 14 is not a suitable compromise and a 12 is too tight at the top and a 16 is too loose around my bottom!

Most of the time the separate approach is OK for either an everyday wear look I prefer in public or the more provocative look I like in private.

However, I’m thinking of going out to venues where I would like to be a little more glamourous.

How do other girls get away with a dress seeming to fit?

Alternatively, how can I put together an outfit of a separate skirt and top which would be less like a secretary look, but not as over the top as the provocative look?
