I can fully appreciate the need to look after an aged and infirm parent.

It is indeed it is a terrible challenge that requires the patience of a saint, and the determination of a devil.

If the original poster was in that situation I would be more sympathetic.

However, she is not

All that has happened is that her mother has retired.
