I felt it at the end of last year and came out to family and friends the first half of this year.

It is a great relief to feel you no longer have to hide who you are and I’ve been very lucky to only have positive experiences so far.

That isn’t everyone’s story though so you should be prepared to no longer have control over who knows and what that means.

It isn’t just the chance of negative reactions.

Sometimes your supporters can be so eager to support you it can be overwhelming.

It can feel like you no longer have the control that way too and you, are being pushed too fast or in a direction, you don’t want to go.

I don’t want to make coming out sound like a bad thing.
