I disagree. LGBT places can be great to make your first steps outside if you’re not used to it.
I live near Manchester and I’ve had many happy evenings socialising up with other girls around Canal Street.
I made some good friends there and it’s nice to know that there are other girls like me.
At first it was the only place I went to dressed.
However, as I got more confident I would stop off on the way home at a supermarket or for a takeaway.
Now I’m happy to be me pretty much everywhere,
I have to say that going to LGBT places in Manchester really helped me to build my confidence.
