When I was in primary school, CP consisted mainly of slapped legs or the ruler on our hands. Having my legs slapped was painful but the ruler was a bit of a joke. In cases of serious or repeated misbehaviour, we would be taken to the Headmaster who might give us the slipper. That was very rare. As far as I remember, I was othe only one in my class to get the slipper and I only heard of a few others getting it in all the time I was there. From that experience, I would have to say the the slipper off the Headmaster was the most painful but I don’t think you can categorise severity of punishments that simply.
