Some time ago I came across an item on the web where in a local area Forum former pupils at a school were discussing the rather unusual disciplinary practices of one of the teachers. Like your PE Master, the teacher in question also had a miniature cricket bat for disciplinary purposes when dealing with errant boys. However, instead of wielding it himself, he delegated the task to a randomly selected girl in the mixed classes!
