I did have a fascination with school corporal punishment and I received the cane in first form by my form master for whispering during assembly. He gave me four strokes during lunch and I winced in pain when I sat down for my next lesson. I am not sure if the pain I felt was the actual caning or the anticipation I felt while I was waiting outside his office for my punishment. I think the pain I felt on my fourth and final caning was just as painful as the first time. The anticipation was acute when there were others being caned before you and you could hear their punishments while you were waiting.
