It would be interesting to conjecture whether those who were unable to read a teacher’s warning signs in class are the same as those who are insensitive in later life. I think it is fair to say that in our society females are far more acculturated from a very young age to be sensitive to the moods of others. Obviously this is a generalisation and genes and environment also play their part.
As for mood, I would suggest that the majority of school and home CP that I saw was due more to the mood of the adult than the behaviour of the child. Children who were not sensitive to such moods often misbehaved at the wrong time.
