Nearly all the slipperings at my school were administered by PE staff and invariably it was carried out with the victim clad only in a thin pair of PE shorts. I have witnessed many boys being slippered and it is true to say that the PE teacher would wallop as hard as he could.Even after a couple of strokes the boy’s backside would carry a purple/red welt the shape of the sole of the plimsoll. The usual sentence was between 1 and 3 strokes but I heard on a couple of occasions that a boy had received 6 which I’m pretty sure was unusual.I recived the slipper on a few occasions and it hurt more than the cane.
