“Ogre gave your roommate the news,” said Derek as Deborah stepped out of the shower.
“Oh no,” said Bridget. She dried off and wrapped a towel around her torso and another one around her hair. “What happened? Will it ever be safe for me to go back to the dorm?”
“Yeah,” he said. “He told her that he tried to attack you and there were no mink near our farmhouse. Flower is upset though. She thinks her uncle just used the idea of the mink ranch raid to attack you.”
“She didn’t hurt your grandma’s coat, did she,” asked Deborah.
“No, he brought it back here. It’s fine.”
“Well, that is good. Mission accomplished,” she said. I’m tired and want to go to bed. I don’t feel safe going back to the dorm. I want to stay here. With you.”
“Well, let’s go to bed then,” said Derek.
The clean shower and night of love making made Deborah so happy. She lay in his arms and relaxed.
“I really like you, Angela,” he said.
“I like you too,” she said. “I am tired. It’s really been a hectic night last night and I really need some sleep.”
“You want me to diaper you again,” he asked.
“No,” said Deborah. “I think the nightmares are over. I won’t need diapers again.” She rolled over. Derek put an arm around her waist and pulled her closer. She fell asleep in his arms.
Deborah woke up to Derek’s nudging. “Wake up. You’re wet.” She rolled onto her back and then rubbed the mattress. She was lying in a puddle. She sat up right away.
Derek looked at her and he seemed kind of disappointed. Of course he was. She had promised him a dry and diaper-free girlfriend and she hadn’t been able to deliver. Tears sprang to her eyes and she started to cry.
“I wasn’t supposed to wet the bed. I didn’t even have a bad dream. I promise. I’m sorry I disappointed you.”
“Don’t cry, Angela.” He scooted over to sit next to her in the puddle so he could put an arm around her. “I’ll always be here for you. I’m only disappointed because you are sad, not because you wet the bed. I love you.”
Deborahsniffled. “You love me? You never said that to me before. You have always been so kind to me, ever since we met at prom. I loved you ever since prom when you danced with me when they played that Elvis song, Can’t Help Falling In Love.”
“That’s when I fell in love with you, too,” he said.
“Even if I have to wear diapers to bed every night?” she asked.
“Even if you have to wear diapers all the time,” he said. He drew her toward him for a kiss. Deborah kissed him for all she was worth.
