Chapter 29: Adrenaline Rush

“So then I just add that to X, and I get my answer?” Kif asked.

“For the hundredth time, yes!” The teacher responded. Kif had once again been asking the same question over and over again. I wasn’t sure if he really didn’t get it, or he was just trying to annoy the teacher. “Kif, just see me after class.” The teacher said, finally having enough of his games.

“He’s such a pest!” I thought. I turned to Jacob, who was silently giggling at the event. “I don’t get him.” I thought. I shifted in my seat a bit, a slight crinkle emanating from my pants. All of a sudden, I felt like I was light headed; that annoying tingling feeling returning to haunt me. It seemed to go away after I learned of AJ and Ger’s home arrest deal, but all of a sudden it started up again. The bell startled me back into reality as I lifted my book bag up, walking over to Jacob like a zombie.

“Today… Something is gonna happen today.” I said. He looked down at me kindly.

“Don’t worry, just relax. Nothing’s going to happen today.” Jacob assured me. He obviously wasn’t feeling the same way that I was.

“I have this feeling…” I started as we strode towards our next class. “Like something bad is going to happen.”

“You worry too much. And besides, we’re getting up on winter break now!” He reminded me. It was now late December, and the cool breeze od winter was striking a chord in everybody’s minds.

“Right.” I responded simply. “Well, at least I already got you your gift!” I teased, winking at Jacob and entering the classroom.

It was going to be a fun little surprise for Jacob. I know he loved gaming, but I didn’t quite have enough of my own money to go out and buy him his own console. But, what I did have were connections that would help me out for my little surprise. Jacob had been playing the role of caretaker for me while my mother was out of the house. Every day he seemed to hold new wonders, and new ideas for what we could do. I had even started my first journal, detailing the events of my kidnapping by my therapist’s request.

Since Jacob was being so kind though, I’d asked a favor from a certain chief of police. Everything was planned, and everything was ready to go. Tomorrow, we would set out on our little trip to the city, and I’d give Jacob the best gift I could give him. But, that wasn’t for a few weeks still. In the meantime, I simply kept playing his baby, and seemingly his pet. It was an odd bit for me to try and grasp, but I tried too for him.

“Come on baby, it’ll be fun!”

“But I told you, I’m not a furry!” I responded.

“You don’t need to be. Just try it out, and see how you like it. Okay? For me?” He pleaded. I couldn’t resist his tone, and simply let him slip a baby blue collar around my neck.

“I bet our babyfur friends will get a kick out of this!” He teased. For some reason, I could only seem to whimper as I sat there on the couch, pouting out of protest. I knew he was into different stuff… but this was definitely new.

“Jacob… when did you become a babyfur?” I asked.

“I’m not a babyfur. I just think you look cuter all submissive with your little collar kitty!”

“Kitty?” I thought.

I heard a loud beep, and I packed up my book bags; heading out of the classroom. It was now time for lunch, and I was absolutely ready to dig into my meal. Jacob and I walked together for a short time until we entered the crowded cafeteria.

“Looks like everybody’s here today, huh?” I commented.

“Yeah, I feel like I’m in a tuna can or something!” He joked.

Soon enough though, we were able to get our lunch and sit down for our meal. Jacob began to chow down on his food… but I was distracted. I felt eyes gazing at me, staring at me with so much force that it could knock me over! I had first thought that it was just me being paranoid; as there usually weren’t this many kids in the cafeteria. But then I looked to my right… at Rebecca. It was her, staring me down. As I looked over to her, she quickly peered away, evading my gaze. I grunted angrily.

“Dumb girl…” I mumbled.

“What was that, Tristian?” Jacob asked, swallowing his chicken nuggets.

“It’s that dumb Rebecca! Ever since she found out, she’s been such a- such a-”

“Bitch?” He suggested.

“Yeah, that about sums it up.” I finished. This was getting ridiculous. I kept getting emails and messages and texts from her over and over and over again! She was basically stalking me at this point! It wouldn’t have surprised me if she would have been waiting outside my house for me this morning!

“Just sit tight. I’ll be right back.” Jacob said, smiling at me. I couldn’t help but obey, even knowing what he was going to do. My adrenaline started pumping through my veins. Anticipation within me seemed to grow at an exponential rate! I just kept feeling more and more nervous, more and more alert. “This isn’t going to end well… no way in hell it possibly can.” I thought. My heart began to creep into my throat, pounding ever harder and ever faster until it froze. Jacob had reached his destination.

“Rebecca.” He started. “You need to stop this. It’s near harassment now. I’m not going to embarrass you here, but you need to stop.” Jacob said calmly. A few kids turned their heads, but not too many people noticed. I felt as though I was watching this like an out of body experience. I felt as if I was standing right there next to Jacob, being able to hear him and Rebecca even though they were a good distance from where I was sitting.

“Shut the fuck up you faggot.” Rebecca laughed, cocking her head. She seemed to take a defensive pose then, trying to act tough. “I ain’t doin’ anything!”

Jacob smirked a bit. “I guess I’ll just have to let everyone know about your little crush.” Jacob stated coyly. Now he had Rebecca’s attention.

“Excuse me? I have no idea what you’re talking about!” She replied crudely. He leaned closer to her.

“Tristian is who I’m talking about.” He whispered, backing away from her and looking coy as ever. His move was well played. It was like a game of chess, and Rebecca’s rooks were out of commission.

“Shut the hell up!” She commanded. This started getting attention. Jacob tried to respond, but couldn’t even begin to stop the onslaught of words that were coming straight for him; like a rabid dog or a train car.

“You need to get the fuck back to your table before I decide to spill YOUR little secret there faggot!” She yelled. “You really wanna try this game? Go back over there with Tristian and make HIM come over here!” She demanded.

“I’m not havi-” Jacob started.

“Oh, what, you made him his bitch? You know that god fucking hates you, right?” She explained. People were obviously getting the gist of what she was saying. This was the edge. This was the point of no return. If I didn’t intervene… nobody would. I got up and quickly walked over to Jacob and Rebecca, standing in between the two and forcing her eyes on me.

“Rebecca, you need to stop the crap now. You’re basically a stalker at this point!” I shouted.

“Oh no Tristian! I’m not! I’ve just been waiting for your response! Please, just listen to-” I interrupted her sentence.

“No, you listen to me for a second here! I have no idea what’s gotten into you, but ever since I went into the hospital last school year you’ve been acting REALLY screwed up! You need to stop this!”

“Stop this? Stop what; stop trying to save your soul?”

“My soul doesn’t NEED to be saved; just listen to yourself! Stop being such… such a dumb stupid bitch!” I demanded. There, I’d said what was on my mind. But the ramifications weren’t going to be… pleasant.

Rebecca sat there, shocked. It was now her turn to play this game.

“You…” She started, standing up. “You aren’t even worth saving! You fucking faggot! Go make out and fuck each-other in your gay ass diapers!” She screamed at the top of her lungs. Bull’s-eye. She’d hit the freaking lottery with that shot.

The kids around us looked very confused. Murmurs of different ideas began to scatter about the crowd. At this point the teachers were walking over. I was so upset, pissed off.

“Stop lying you idiot!” I retorted.

“Whatever!” She scoffed.

“Dumb cunt…” Jacob mumbled. But apparently she’d heard his comment. This is where I was expecting her to slap him in the face or kick him or something. But she didn’t. She walked up to him and looked him dead in the eyes. Then she turned to me, and grabbed my head; pulling me into a kiss. She started to make out with me, but I quickly pulled away. I hadn’t yet realized that as I was pulling away, Rebecca had grabbed my pants. So when I nearly jumped backwards, my pants slid down enough to where people could see my padding. I hadn’t yet realized it though, because Rebecca ran up and grabbed my crotch. Needless to say though, I wasn’t aroused. Kids were staring, laughing and pointing! This was worse than the dream I had had about Josh. This was worse than a nightmare. This was a terror filled piece of my life. I pulled my pants up again and clenched my fists. I looked at Jacob, who had the look of a beast in his eyes. I was sure that Jake no longer existed, but… I couldn’t feel like it was Jake’s eyes I saw there, not Jacob’s. There was no point in hiding anymore. But then again, I wasn’t exactly thinking at this point.

As one of the teachers began to push through the somewhat large crowd, I began to yell.

“You- you fucking gross piece of scum! I don’t like you! I don’t like girls! Leave me ALONE about it!” I began. “Stop being some creepy stalker just because I don’t want to touch your no-no place, you damn skank!” I screamed. I wasn’t trying to insult her. Hell, I didn’t even mean to say what I had said. But… I did. And that’s that. There were no more murmurs after that. There were no kids laughing. There was just a dead silence. That is, except for Rebecca. While she never said a word after that, her gaze itself seemed to peer into me, screaming at a bafflingly loud volume to me, and me alone. It told me only that I’d just said the absolute worst thing I could have possibly said. It told me that she finally got the message. It told me that Rebecca? Hated me.
