Instead of taking a right through the door that lead into the garage I went further down, something I had never done before, to the door at the end of the hall. Sure enough, when I opened that door there was a wide staircase just as beautiful as the one that lead from the foyer to the upstairs only this one lead down to the basement.
Now, calling my grandparents basement a basement is like calling the bathroom that is off of my bedroom an outhouse. The basement is decorated just as nicely as the rest of the house and except for the lack of windows, you’d never know that you were below ground-level.
