[B][U]Chapter 24: Why Don’t You Tell Me?

I don’t think that the rest of the school year held any real significance. There wasn’t that much school left to be had, and what there was consisted of the boring and monotonous review sessions our teachers would prepare. Tutors would come to our house each day, and give us our lessons. We wound up taking our final exams early, and passing all our classes. It was an easy time, and summer was on approach. Once summer started, everything seemed to change. The first was that Josh had stopped talking with me. I couldn’t for the life of me figure out why! It wasn’t like I’d been being mean to him or anything; I just sort of didn’t talk to him as much as I was when we were in school!

But beyond that lied another problem. Though, it wasn’t really a problem. I and Jacob had to go see a shrink. I can see why, but… it was still a bit awkward. I remember the first visit we had with her. Doctor Hayley.

“Hello boys! I’m doctor Hayley!” She stated, shaking our hands. I was dressed in a short sleeved onesie and a pair of jeans, whilst Jacob donned a loose T-shirt and shorts. They hid his padding surprisingly well.

“I’m Tristian, and this is Jacob.” I stated. We said our goodbyes to my mother and followed the good doctor down a few hallways utill we reached her office. It looked like it was built for a toddler; the only thing ‘babyish’ was the motif of ducks and the color of baby blue on the wall. I thought that she was absolutely crazy.

“Come on in and make yourselves at home boys!” She said. We obliged and took seats down on two multi colored bean bag chairs. She sat down in one just across from us. “Okay, now let’s see here…” She mumbled. “Ah, how about this. Let’s start with you Jacob. Why do you think you’re here?”

“Why do I think I’m here?” He repeated. He closed his eyes and put his finger above his upper lip. “Probably because I wound up beating the heck out of Tristian, and a slew of other things.” The doctor nodded.

“Well, that’s definitely on target. Tristian, how about you?” She questioned.

I thought a moment. “I’m not gonna say. Why don’t you tell me?” I responded. I wanted to outsmart her. I felt almost insulted that she was trying to profile Jacob and I. I wasn’t going to let this tactic work so easily. If she was nice enough, then maybe; but until I felt safe there was no way in hell I was going to divulge any information about myself.

“Well, you’re here because you have people who deeply care about you, and want to make sure you’re okay.” She stated definitely. It kind of took me by surprise. Jacob out of nowhere raised his hand.

“Yes Jacob? You have a question?” She asked.

“This room… it’s not a coincidence we’re talking in here, is it?”

“You’re a smart boy. You are right though, it isn’t a coincidence. I felt it would be more welcoming to have our sessions here.” She replied. She was right in that regard, but I would never state it aloud to her. The room was very toddler esque, with multi colored walls and toys around. “So, why then don’t we go over some things? Tristian, how about you tell me and Jacob why you like baby things?” She asked. She simply came right out and laid the cards she was holding on the table. I just couldn’t keep my mouth shut.

“First off, the term is TB, or teen baby. Secondly… it’s a long story.” I began.
“I think we have time. How about you tell us when you became a… teen baby, right?” I nodded.

“Well, I’ll shorten it. It was way back when I was ten. I was scrolling the net, and came across a website. It had stories and pictures about pokemon and digimon and all this other kind of stuff that I liked back then, but it was all TB themed. I… just couldn’t stop going back to sites like it. I don’t know. For some people it’s a sexual fetish but, it isn’t for me. I kind of just like all that stuff.” I couldn’t believe I’d just said everything. I have no idea why I did, but I did. The damn witch seemingly cast an evil spell on me!

“Alright. Jacob? How about you?” She asked, moving on like I’d said nothing.

“Wasn’t my choice. I didn’t have a say in the matter.” He stated. I’d never actually asked myself why he was a TB. All I knew was that he was in that facility for a while.

“What do you mean?” Doctor Hayley questioned.

“I mean my crazy old man decided that it was time for me to be his ‘baby boy’ again.” He declared, making air quotes as he said the words baby boy. Doctor Hayley crossed her legs.

“Interesting. So, he purposefully regressed you then?” She asked. Jacob nodded.

“Something like that.” He responded. I stayed silent. Now wasn’t a time for me to interrupt. “It’s way too long of a story to tell though. If anything…” He paused. “I’ll explain another time.” He said, turning to me. I knew what he meant. He was only going to tell me, but… I didn’t know when or how. All I knew is, when it came, it came. And that was all I could do; wait.

“I think that the two of you have had enough time for today.” She responded politely. It’d been a full hour now of this little session. She stood up, and we followed suit. She opened her office door. “You boys can call me any time if you need to talk about something. We’ll meet again soon, okay?”

“Alright.” We both said.

We went on our way and our mother took us home. It was only then that the day actually felt like it made a difference.

I stopped reading.

“Oh! Isn’t that the day that I came to the house and showed you lads that your father hadn’t properly filled out the paperwork?” Olivia asked.

“Yup! I STILL can’t believe that my father, a LAWYER, didn’t fill out the paperwork properly.” I joked. “I’m amazed that no one but you caught onto that little error Olivia!”

“This is very true. It was kind of a relief to find out that we weren’t legally brothers though; that way our relationship wouldn’t have been taboo!” Jacob commented.

“Too true lad. But wait… there are some pages missing there!” Gavin gasped, pointing to the notebook. Several pages had been torn out.

“The pages that were torn out were taken out because they talked about some more… private stuff. Nothing that would hinder your ability to understand the upcoming events, though.” I replied.

“I see.” Gavin stated simply.

“The pages I do have start at our first day back to school; a day that will live in infamy! After that is a bit more of school, and then the incident. I won’t make you wait too long Gavin; but some things have to be said. I can’t really rush this… you need to know the whole story. Gavin nodded.

“I understand lad. Go ahead and continue; we’re listening.”
