“This will hold me until I get home tonight,” she thought as she slapped the sandwich meat on the bread, “After I eat I’ll open some jars for the kids. Let’s see now, I guess for Deedee I’ll open a jar of mixed chicken and vegetables followed by a container of chocolate pudding and then I’ll do the same for Ron. They ought to like that.”

She finished her sandwich and set the jars out on the kitchen table so they’d be ready when she brought the kids in for dinner. Then she turned on the burner underneath the pot of water she had used to heat the kid’s bottles for lunch. Kimberly went to the refrigerator and took out two bottles of formula as well as a pair of pudding containers. She noted that there were only two bottles of formula left in the refrigerator as she closed the door.
