Hailey woke up when the sunlight, rushing through the blinds her mother had just opened, danced across her eyes. As she regained consciousness, she noticed that Erin was sleeping next to her, and it didn’t take her long to remember why.
“Wake up,” her mother said, “I’ve got breakfast ready.”
Hailey shook Erin, who groggily arose. She was confused at first; she was sleeping in a bed she didn’t recognize. She recognized Hailey, so she was in Hailey’s bed for some reason. But why?
Erin sat up suddenly and looked over at her bed as she remembered the events of a few hours ago. She then realized her aunt was in the room. Her eyes pleaded with aunt to be lenient; Aunt Sue must have noticed the stripped bed by now, and she would discover the wet laundry soon enough.
