The situation had changed from extremely serious to critical. If I didn’t do something soon, neither Gino or I would survive. I rushed into Gino’s bedroom to get him ready to go. It wasn’t easy to dress someone who is semi-conscious; his head flopped from side-to-side loosely while I put his arms through the sleeves of his shirt and it was almost impossible to pull his pants over his bottom, but somehow I managed it and got him fully dressed. I put one of his arms over my shoulder and supported his waist with my other hand as we walked to my car. He had lost so much weight I had no difficulty picking up his legs and putting them in front of the passenger seat after I sat him down on the front seat.
